MD will present on "Works Well with Others: Group Dynamics on Clinical Teams" at St. John Fisher College in the Elaine P. Wilson Formal Lounge, Building 12, Parking Lot D (map). Registration starts at 6:45pm and the workshop runs from 7-9pm. Many professions, including mental health, emphasize working in a team setting. This presentation is designed to explore similarities and differences between professional teams and therapy groups as they relate to boundaries, tasks, leadership skills, problem solving and more. Attendees will learn some of the ways treatment teams resemble therapy groups and ways to use this understanding to improve the working of the team. Attendees will also learn how treatment teams are distinct from therapy groups and how to manage team dynamics differently than one might in a therapy setting. Jim Wallace MD is a child and adolescent psychiatrist who has worked for almost twenty years on treatment teams in hospital, school, and outpatient settings. He also has a longstanding interest in Group Therapy; leading child and adolescent clinical groups, trainee experiential and supervision groups. Dr. Wallace is a longstanding member of both AGPA and RAGPS. Registration: Either mail in the registration or e-mail .
